MSIADA Advocacy Trip – Key Takeaways
By J. Blair Witter, Owner, ACME Wholesale Inc.
President, Mississippi Independent Auto Dealers Association (MSIADA)
Last week, MSIADA leadership traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with Senators and Members of Congress. Our goal was to ensure Mississippi independent automobile dealers are represented at the highest levels of government. Here are the key issues we brought forward:
- Right to Repair – Support for the REPAIR Act (H.R. 1566 / S. 1399) to ensure small businesses have fair access to tools, parts, and diagnostics.
- Catalytic Converter Theft – Backing the PART Act (S. 2238 / H.R. 5221) to deter theft by requiring VIN stamping and providing dealer protections.
- CFPB Reform – Advocating for H.R. 654 (TABS Act) and H.R. 1652 (Rectifying UDAAP Act) to reduce regulatory overreach and provide clarity for small dealers.
Standing Together
MSIADA is working to protect independent dealers from theft, fight back against harmful overregulation, and ensure small businesses like ours can thrive in a fair marketplace. Your membership and support make this advocacy possible.
