Amendment to Section 63-21-16 MS Code
This Act Shall Take Effect January 1, 2025****
Act Amendments:

Any lien-holder with an EIN must electronically transmit release and discharge of a lien on a motor vehicle no later than 14 days after the date of satisfaction of the lien. Failure to comply will be in violation and subject to a civil penalty of up to $250.00 per violation. If a lien on a motor vehicle is 8 years from the date the lien was placed on the vehicle, the lien will be recorded by the MS Department of Revenue in MARVIN as having been satisfied, released, and discharged, unless annually re-certified by the lien-holder through MARVIN.
